The most important person in a film crew is the Editor. They're in charge of putting the film together and allowing for a cohesive narrative to flow on screen. Many atimes they will know if the film is good or not and know the content and feel of the film through the Editing process. In this article, we will breakdown the best Editors in Tollywood. 

G.D. Joshi: Worked for many NT Rama Rao movies starting with Samsaram in 1950 and was the editor for his magnum opus Daana Veera Soora Karna. He retired after the film and died just 4 years later in 1981.  
 

A.Sreekar Prasad: Probaby the biggest editor in Telugu cinema at the moment is Akkineni Sreekar Prasad. He's not related to the iconic Telugu family in any way and is from Chennai. He also holds the Guiness Book of World records for most films edited in various languages and has worked in the Tamil, English, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, Nepali, Marathi, Sinhalese, Karbi, Mishing, Bodo, and Pangchenpa film industries. He mainly works for big budget Telugu movies and has loads of experience editing some of our favorite movies of the years. His work in Telugu includes Annammaya, Nuvve Kavali, Nuvvu Naaku Nachav, Manmadhudu, Okkadu, Arjun, Malliswari, Gowri, Athadu, Sri Ramadasu, Sainikudu, Jalsa, Chintakayala Ravi, Khaleja, Panjaa, Rudramadevi, Nenu Sailaja, Vunnadi Okkate Zindagi, Ghazi, Spyder, Padi Padi Leche Manasu, Chitralahari, Saaho, and Sye Raa Naraimsha Reddy. His upcoming movie is Rajamouli's RRR with Ram Charan and Jr. NTR. 

Marthand K Venkatesh: His father was a film editor in Telugu movies and he's basically edited every Telugu movie in present day. They include but aren't limited to industry hits Pokiri and Kalisundam Raa, Preminchukundam Raa, Bavagaru Bagunarra, Ganesh, Tholi Prema, Thammudu, Raja, Seenu, Kalisundam Raa, Badri, Ninne Premistha, Aazad, Jayam Manaderaa, Daddy, Takkari Donga, Bobby, Idiot, Raghavendra, Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammayi, Vasantham, Shivamani, Arya, Andharawala, Venky, Nenunnanu, Pokiri, Shankar Dada MMBS, Bhadra, Super, Godavari, Thulasi, Desamuduru, Bommarillu, Munna, Happy Days, Parugu, Kantri, Bujjigadu, Brindavanam, Ragada, Orange, Mr Perfect, SVSC, Yevadu, and Geetha Govindam.

Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao: One of the industry veterans, he's known as Chanti garu by many people in Tollywood. He started his career in 1979 with NTR's Adavi Ramudu and has 7 industry hits to his name in present day with the movies Samarasimha Reddy, Narasimha Naidu, Indra, Magadheera, Baahubali The Beginning, Srimanthudu and Baahubali The Conclusion. He's also edited films such as Rajakumarudu, Student No.1, Vamsi, Choodalani Vundi, , Raghavendra, Gangtori, Simhadri, Sye, Balu, Chatrapathi, Vikramarkudu, Devadasu, Yamadonga, Magadheera, Maryada Ramanna, Darling, Simha, Kandireega, Eega, Mirchi, Legend, Srimanthudu, Sarrainodu, Janatha Garage, A Aa, and Mahanati. His next movie is Radhe Shyam starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde. 

M.R. Varma: Best known for his association with Sreenu Vaitla, he's done all his movies since Ready which include King, Namo Venkatesa, Dookudu, Baadshah, Aagadu, Bruce Lee The Fighter, Mister, and Amar Akbar Anthony. Other movies he's edited are Masala, Ek Niranjan, Neninthe, and Chirutha. 

Prawin Pudi: Starting in 2010, Prawin Pudi has quickly worked in some of Tollywood's biggest movies and was the editor for industry hit Attarintiki Daredi. His other works includes Pilla Zamindar, Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde, Oka Laila Kosam, S/O Satyamurthy, Soggade Chinni Nayana, 24, Majnu, Nenu Local, Ninnu Kori, Dwaraka, Shamanthakamani, MCA, Hello, Devadas 2018 with Nani and Nagarjuna, Majili, and Venky Mama. His upcoming movies are Pawan Kalyan's Vakeel Saab and Nani's Tuck Jagadish.

Gowtham Raju: The industry veteran has been around since 1982 and is best known for his assocation with director VV Vinayak having done ALL his films since Aadi starting in 2002 and ending with Intelligent in 2018. His edited films include but are not limited to Aadi, Dil, Tagore, Samba, Yagnam, Bhageeratha, Bunny, Athanokkade, Lakshmi, Ranam, Ashok, Annavaram, Yogi, Lakshyam, Athidhi, Krishna The Power of Indrakeeladri, Ontari, Hare Ram, Kick, Adhurs, Mirapakay, Veera, Badrinath, Oosaravelli, Bodyguard, Gabbar Singh, Balupu, Damarukam, Ramayya Vasthavayya, Race Gurram, Venkatadri Express, Alludu Seenu, Power, Pandaga Chesko, Subramanyam for Sale, Sardaar Gabbar Singh, Hyper, Khaidi No 150, Katamaryudu, Ra Randoi Veduka Chuddam and Intelligent. 

Naveen Nooli: The new guy on the block, Naveen Nooli has quickly become one of Tollywood's biggest editors in the span of just 6 years and already has two industry hits to his name in Rangasthalam and Ala Vaikunthapurramlo. He started in 2014 as the editor for Govindudu Andari Vadele and has already racked up an impressive filmography consisting of Nannaku Prematho, Dhruva, Tholi Prema 2018, Aravinda Sametha, Mr Majnu, Jersey, Gang Leader, Bheesma, Solo Brathuku So Better, Krack, Uppena, Rang De, Acharya, Ayyappanum Koshaiyum remake with Pawan Kalyan, Naga Chaitanya's Thank You, and Nani's Shyam Singha Roy. 

KL Praveen: He's mostly worked in Tamil but has edited films such as Maharshi, RX100, Kabali, Kaala, NGK, Hippi, and Jaanu

 Chota K Prasad: He made his debut in 2015 with Sundeep Kishan's Tiger and has since worked on films like Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada, Duvvada Jagganadham, Okka Kshanam, Nel Ticket, Shambo Shankara, Chi La Sow, Nannu Dochukunduvate, Kavacham, Manmadhudu 2, Gaddalakonda Ganesh and will serve as the editor for Allari Naresh's upcoming movie Naandhi. 

Tammiraju: Best known for his association with Anil Ravipudi, he's worked for ALL of his movies. His work includes Sarileru Neekevvaru,Pataas, Tuntari, Jai Lava Kusa, Raja The Great, Chalo, MLA, Nartanasala, Vineya Vidheya Rama, F2, 118, and the upcoming Seetimaar and F3. 

S.R. Shekar: Best known for his assocation with Puri Jagannadh since 2011, he was the editor for Mahesh Babu's blockbuster movie Businessman. He also worked on Nenu Naa Rakshasi, Devudu Chesina Manushulu, Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu, Iddarammayilatho, Heart Attack, Loukyam. Current Theega, Temper, Jithi Lakshmi, Leader, Chuttallabbayi, LIE, Jawaan, Chal Mohan Ranga and Tej I Love You.

Karthika Srinivas: Started in 2011 and best known for his work with Sukumar, he's done 1 Nenokkadine, 100% Love, Swamy Ra Raa, Bhai, Karthikeya, Dochay, Cinema Chupistha Mava, Hello Guru Prema Kosame, Anthariskham 9000 KPMH, Mathu Vadalara. His next movie is Allu Arjun's Pushpa reteaming him with Sukumar for the 3rd time.
