Rating: 3.5/5 (Don't be Selfish)

Prabhas fresh off the success of Darling, has joined hands with Dasaradh for another family entertainer called Mr.Perfect. Produced by Dil Raju under SVC banner, how is the film? Find out in this review

Story: Vicky (Prabhas) is a video game designer in Australia. He doesn't believe in relationships or compromising for anything in life and wants to do things his way and believes that only his way is the right way. When his parents ask him to come back to India to meet his old family friend, he meets his former friend Priya (Kajal Aggarwal) and in reality, the family friends have planned the a vacation to see if they like each other and want to get them married. The two connect but citing some differences, Vicky leaves Priya and goes back to Australia. He then meets a girl just like him named Maggie (Tapsee) and falls in love with her but he has to win over her father (Prakash Raj) and all her family members for him to marry her.

The rest of the story is whether Vicky wins everyone over in the end, who he chooses in the end, and realizes that adjustment is the most important thing in life.

Performances: Prabhas looks ultra stylish with a new hairdo and delivers a good performance. It's nothing great but the film runs on his characterization and his characters problem and he is excellent in the climax scene. There are some fights included there as well and he is as usual superb in the action sequences.

Kajal Aggarwal is the highlight of the film. She looks super attractive and is stunningly beautiful in sarees and delivers a great performance.

Tapsee is also attractive and her own dubbing sounds good for her character.

Prakash Raj plays a different type of father role this time. He is good. K. Viswanath has vital role in the 2nd half of the film and he is excellent.

Kasi Viswanath and Sameers track is funny to an extent. Sayaji Shinde has a comical yet serious role.

Nasser, Tulasi, and Murali Mohan are excellent as the parents. Bramhanandham tries to entertain as Jalsa Kishore.

Technicalities: Songs and BGM by Devi Sri Prasad are excellent. The background score deserves a special mention and works very well in the emotional scenes. Cinematography by Vijay C Chakravarthy is superb. The lighting for the village scenes and the Australia scenes is very good. Editing by Siva Prasad as the 2nd half drags a bit. Dialogues by Aburri Ravi are very good especially in the emotional scenes. Fights by Peter Heins pass muster. Art by Ravinder is very good. Production Values by Dil Raju are excellent as usual and the film is rich and has a great message.

Analysis: Dil Raju's films have always been known for family values, youth oriented subjects, and clean entertainment. Mr. Perfect is no different and hits the bulls-eye for it's target audience which is the family audience. Mr Perfect is a family entertainer that has all the ingredients to be a blockbuster and the message in the film is truly endearing and very true.

If you do something you like, then you will only be happy. But if you adjust and do something that everyone likes, then everyone around will you be happy. Would you rather be selfish and be your own man or would you rather be someone who shares his happiness with others? The film makes you think about this concept.

The first half is very good with some nice entertainment. the village atmosphere and songs. The interval twist is nice. The 2nd half is good but drags after the Badulu Tochani song and becomes a bit long. The film clocks in at 146 minutes so it's a little long for todays standards. But at the end of it, the film is a great one.

Prabhas is the star of the film and rightfully carries the film. Dasaradh had a great concept on hand and executed it in a pretty well done manner.

Overall, Mr. Perfect is an awesome family entertainer with a great message in it. Prabhas, Kajal, the direction, music, camerawork, and climax make for a great watch. Do yourself a favor and stop being selfish after watching this film.
